Baran’s Kenpo Karate is a well-established martial arts studio, who has been in business since 1994. They relied on old-school, word-of-mouth marketing tactics. They needed help in the digital space by updating their online presence, both on social and web.

My approach was to seamlessly fuse the studio's traditional Martial Arts ethos with a more modern style. Leveraging Adobe Lightroom, I created a black and white preset for imagery on their website, symbolizing tradition and the rich history of martial arts, while also evoking the seriousness of the combat sport. Beyond mere self-defense, Baran’s Kenpo Karate instills invaluable life lessons, emphasizing a positive mindset, determination, respect, and character development. For their Instagram, I used black and white for the quote and affirmation squares, to replicate the black and white imagery on their website. These assets were used to created a grid that encapsulates the essence of their teachings. The result? A cohesive website and Instagram that authentically reflects their identity, instantly immersing visitors in the culture of Baran’s Kenpo Karate.
